The seat is half the size of a regular chair, making it slim and compact. Even with all four chairs together, the feeling of oppression is minimal. It is also perfect for those who want to save space in the dining area.
half chair Op.2
A chair that is comfortable to play on.
The concept is to create a chair that supports the spine while keeping the person sitting in a straight position. It is suitable for players of musical instruments such as cello, violin, flute, and guitar. The bold idea of reducing the seat surface to half has resulted in a highly original design.
"The seating was comfortable and I was able to play comfortably. Since I sit forward while playing, it was reasonable that the chair had only half the seat surface. I don't have to worry about the sides (edges) even when I spread my legs. It's also good that I can use the backrest when I'm resting. You can't do this with a normal chair." (Male cellist)
In classical music, "Op.2" means "second work," but the first work, "Op.1," was designed by Jeong Woo-jin and won the Gold Leaf Award at the IFDA (International Furniture Design Competition Asahikawa). It was later commercialized by WOW and won the Good Design Award in 2013.
The "Op.2" chair has a slightly different feel to its predecessor, the "Op.1," in terms of the seat fabric, size, height, etc. The material can be chosen from EZOASH, oak, and walnut. All of them are made from natural wood that is over 100 years old.
Lightweight and easy to carry.
The total weight of the chair is about 2 to 3 kg, depending on the material and fabric type. It is lightweight and easy to carry, making it easy to move. With a slim and compact design of 500 mm wide, 352 mm deep, and 698 mm high, it is easy to load the chair into a car by yourself and take it to the performance venue.

STORY
Founded in 1972, "WOW" is a domestic furniture manufacturer based in Asahikawa, one of the six major furniture production areas in Japan. The company name contains two meanings: "words of admiration = Wow" and "valuable wood = Worthy Wood".
We specialize in easy-to-order furniture, where you can choose the shape, size, and color, as well as highly creative wooden furniture made with a natural wood processing technique called "tsukiita" that makes the most of the beautiful grain of the wood. We also produce designer works that have won competitions.
WOW's philosophy is "We want to create something that people want to use." No matter how good a design is, it is meaningless if it is not used. Our goal has always been to breathe life into Hokkaido's wood and create furniture that creates a "WOW" in the hearts of those who use it.
Features of WOW
EZOASH "Hokkaido Ash"
"EZOASH" is a species of wood from Hokkaido that is used in WOW furniture. It grows in the harsh winter weather, develops beautiful grain over the years, and is highly durable. The more you use it, the deeper it becomes, bringing individuality to your furniture.
Veneer plywood that makes the most of limited wood
Veneer, thinly sliced natural wood, allows you to feel the warmth of wood even when it is not a solid piece of wood. It allows us to use limited wood carefully, making it possible to create sustainable furniture.
Polishing relies on the craftsman's sense
The polishing process determines the quality of the finished product. Large surfaces are polished by machine, but the craftsman's senses are relied upon to check the fine details and the finish. Each piece is carefully polished by sight, touch, and sound.
